Wallonia exported to Asia !

Thanks to AWEX (Wallonia Export-Investment Agency), Walloon businesses were able to discover and offer their products and/or services during the ICT Tour Asia 2015. In addition to discovering technological advances, it was a wonderful opportunity to forge relationships with partners in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Taipei. We were able to enjoy the particular dedication of the AWEX teams on the ground, who organised for us to visit prestigious companies and hi-tech research centres (Foxconn, Mitac, Flextronic, etc.).

We are starting to witness the results of this economic mission, led by Minister J-C Marcourt. The contacts we made over there are coming back to us for additional information and will perhaps set up partnerships. Both Chinese and Taiwanese businesses enjoyed our expertise and above all our typically Walloon bons vivant attitude, which was a good match for their business sense. Partnerships are first created through a relationship of trust and only then can we talk business! And we have to admit that we liked that attitude!
The networking sessions allowed the Belgian businesses to return with highly relevant contacts for developing their activities.

The visits to the research centres made an impression on us and we are currently hoping that similar structures to support innovation could be created in Belgium, in addition to the existing establishments of course.

Should we talk about the ICT Fair 2015 in Shenzhen? Just enough to encourage you to embark on the adventure... It was spectacular; products that we can't even imagine here were on display over there.
